Peaky Blinders Inspired Shoot

Here is a brand new photo shoot, completely inspired by one of my most favorite TV series, Peaky Blinders. Ever since watching the series, I had been dying to do a shoot, and just so happened to have the perfect model for it!

- The TV Series
Peaky Blinders is an epic series staring the likes of Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins/Inception), Sam Neil (Jurassic Park/The Piano), Helen McCory (Skyfall/Hugo) and Annabelle Wallis (X-men: First Class). It focuses on a 1919 Birmingham gangster family who sew razor blades into the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss, Thomas Shelby, who means to move up in the world. If you like beautiful cinematography, epic music, superb acting, slow-mo violence, relationships, awesome plot-twists and cliffhangers - then I would recommend watching this! Simply cannot wait for series two to come out!

- The Shoot
It took a while to organize the shoot itself, comparing various schedules and weather conditions. On the day, it was actually drenching with rain (which almost prevented the shoot) but as luck would have it, the sun came out just as we did. I wasn't sure where exactly I wanted to shoot, but I had a vicinity, so I did what I always do and made it up as we went along! As amazing luck would have it, we found the most perfect, old fashioned, rustic pub. It was decked with big leather chairs, old wooden coffee tables, thick stonewalls, various antiques and vintage items - the model looked like he belonged there!

All the clothes are the model's own, apart from the cap.

100,000 Page Views!

It has just come to my attention that my blog has reached over 100,000 page views! Woo! I find this amazing as, looking through my old posts, I found ones saying 'Just got to 2,000 views! Yay!'. It is absolutely gobsmacking to go from there to here, so thank you very much to all my lovely viewers!

So to celebrate this fabulous milestone, I thought (along with the new, revamped header image/logo) I'd do a post to credit the 'out with the old and in with the new'!

I recently decided to have a look through my folder stores of past photo shoots from years ago. I do tend to move on fairly quickly after finishing images but I found that, going back, there were still loads that I was proud of. That being said, I decided to do some new edits of old shoots.

Raindrop Sparkles

The title may sound like something out of My Little Pony, but it seemed to fit the bill. These are raindrops that I experimented with photographing on my window. I am exceedingly pleased with the results!

Flora

Margarine.

Only joking! Of course I'm using the title 'Flora' in the plant sense.

Would you look at this then - an unscheduled, unexpected autumn/winter plant post! Full of surprises I am.

I did just write a paragraph to explain why my posts are very slow at the moment... But I figured, who's going to want to read that on New Years Eve? So instead, I'll simply say:

I hope you had a wonderful christmas and that you have a brilliant new year - because you all deserve it!

The Girl On Fire

The Girl On Fire!

No, I'm not talking about Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, but instead, my brilliantly fiery-haired model! She had said that the one comment she mostly got at school was 'Oh my god, your on fire!! ...Oh wait no, it's just your hair.' Hence the title. I had met and taken pictures of the model previously, at the wonderful Kings Weston House wedding event (click HERE for the post) and so decided to contact her and arrange our own shoot. I realised that I hand't actually done a proper shoot for over a month now, so I was eager to get back in the game... as it were.
It. Was. Freezing! I'm not sure how the model managed to lay around in leaves and jump into bushes in that black dress, but she did!

Incidentally, I do apologise for my recent inactivity! Been very busy. But I've got some very exciting shoots just waiting to be posted up, so keep an eye out!

Black dress & necklace - both mine and charity-shopped.

Statement

So I recently took some shots for a non-blog project with my lovely model Bala Piti, but they turned out quite nicely so I figured I should just put a couple of them up. I've also been slowly coming to terms with photoshop and so have edited the shots by messing around the colours on curves.

In Other News: I took some photos for Pretty Nostalgic magazine, which was fantastic! I have a severely overdue post about this that shall hopefully be coming soon. For reference though, my work has been featured in issue 9 of the magazine.

Glasses, necklace and shoes are mine - other clothes are model's own.

Tumblr 2

Well, since it went down so well last time, I have decided to do another Tumblr post. This showcases just a few from the many posters I create for my Rosa Fay Photography Tumblr page. As well as this, you'll also be able to find photos of mine that you won't find anywhere else - not even on the blog!

Do drop by and check it out!
